I’m seventeen, about to eighteen in twenty one days and have been trying to get a job since my freshman year! I’m a senior now and still without a job. I can’t understand why or how this is possible when my grades are excellent, I’m a VERY hard worker, I pay extreme attention to detail and only have two classes my senior year (so I get out at 10:26). I’ve tried applying to SO many places and I think I’ve applied to Chipotle almost twenty times now yet I have never gotten a call for an interview or anything! In fact, apparently I’m not qualified to work at Target or Papa John’s as a cashier or waiter. I’ve tried getting physical applications but all the places told me I HAVE to use the online one. Once, a CVS had a “now hiring all positions sign” up and I ask about it and they just tell me I need to apply online. I don’t understand how- and I don’t just apply, I look for opened positions- I can’t even get a job as a dishwasher at iHop or Boston Market. Is there some sort of secret to getting a job as a teen?

I would like to know what the Komodo Dragon’s Niche is. It’s part of my ecology project and I haven’t found much on what its niche (The ecological role and space that an organism fills in an ecosystem) would be. If you could either go into as much detail as possible or provide a link to a website I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

Can you give me some ideas on how and where to contact people about exercising/training and competing for other people, i know some people who compete and ride for others and i would love to as well, im not on a livery yard so i cant really start there – i currently compete up to foxhunter and have basically ‘moulded’ my ponies and horses myself, i just would love to help other people and ride different horses with a different scenery for a change! Where should i start asking around? I’m in the UK, and would i get paid? Either ponies or horses – i know ponies inside out and i’m fairly good with naughty ones too but would rather be show jumping. I would love as many ideas as you can think of would be great and as much detail as possible – thanks in advanced! Oh i’ve just turned 16 by the way 🙂 so only till december in ponies for the affiliated side of things 🙁 Sorry if some parts don’t make sense i haven’t slept for two days!

I am about to be a high school Senior in a few weeks, and decided on pursuing a career as a doctor. I’ve been researching on possible Medical Schools and college, but I was wondering a tiny detail.
Colleges such as Columbia, NYU, Stonybrook, and now Hofstra have a Medical School, and are also possible choices for me after high school as well. Say I attended Hofstra, or any other school, and then applied to that schools Medical School as well. Would I have any sort of advantage because I went through my undergraduate years there?
Also as a side question, Hofstra is affiliated with North Shore LIJ, and I began volunteering in their ER as a shadow and observer to the ER staff, and plan to continue my volunteer for the foreseeable future, so would the fact that I am somewhat affiliated with Hofstra’s affiliations, would I stand out favorably?
I’m not relying on these ways to get into college and Medical School, but I was wondering if they would serve to my advantage more than somebody with similar grades or slightly better grades than me.
I don’t really know too much about Hofstra’s Medical School Program as its still new, but i have an overall average of a 96 so far, took a very rigorous course load throughout high school, and am thinking about majoring in Physics as I have heard it might help me stand out and I enjoy Physics a lot anyway. My high school is a Catholic school if that makes a difference.
What are my chances in general, or my outlook?
