Im 17, and i love music. I got into producing about a year ago now, and i just can’t seem to get a hold of who i am as a producer. Some days ill produce hip hop, then some days ill produce like complex electric music, and the range of music i enjoy is so broad. My favourite artists / categories are, The Weekend, Skrillex, Frank Ocean, old smooth jazz, 90’s hip hop (especially the beats), John legend, city and colour, bon iver, and even some of the unordinary generes including Jai Paul, and Shlohmo. I just cant seem to find who i am as a producer though. Im not sure what i like best. Listen to the two different tracks in the link below and see how different they are. Anyway yea i just want advice, becuase i would like to stick to one genre? But i like so many…

I’ve been caught in a pretty vicious battle for a while now between writing exciting, entertaining genre stories like paranormal romance that I can just start from a blank paper and go without plotting out or putting too much thought into – and the extremely slow, hard work of trying to put together “masterpieces” I’ve been working on for years and that have grand, delicately-interwoven plots & messages…
Holy hell, that was a long sentence. Sorry. Anyway – got any advice for how I can solve this battle? I can’t figure out if I’m a literature writer being lazy and giving into easy caves or a fun genre writer who’s insecure about producing “lighter” fiction. It’s probably both, but that’s really not helping my focus. Basically, I’d appreciate any pointers on how to find my “niche”.

Hey I need to find a bunch of popular-ish songs (WITH MUSIC VIDEOS) that have the same name as the album and im struggling a tad.
An example: “Born To Die” by Lana Del Ray off the album “Born to die”
Only conditions are they must have an official video and must be relatively popular-ish nothing to niche.
Doesn’t matter how old they are and the genre could be anything (Rap, Rock, Rnb, Country…. ect)
Any links or tittles you could give would be appreciated.
Cheers 😀

They are 2 of my fave rap songs, they just stand out and sound ‘different’ if you know what I mean?
Like a strange niche in the genre, anyone know what I’m on about?

I’m curious about how people go about finding a niche or a style for their photography. I’ve heard people say that they just photograph things they’re passionate about and over time a style develops. Is that how it works for you?
For myself, I don’t think I have a style or a niche. I’m not particularly worried about developing one or the other, I’m just a hobbyist. I shoot what I want and how I want to, sure, but there isn’t really any consistency with it. I’ve never had a moment where I said to myself (for example) “I want to be an automotive photographer!” While I might photograph a variety of things (generally objects, I find working with people tedious at best) I guess I’m just not passionate enough about any one genre of ‘thing’ to make that my niche.
