I’m writing a story. The basic plot is that a guy (Vince) steals something because he really needs the money. (He has a sick dying mom, 2 daughters, and his wife just died….poor Vince!) However, in the second half of the story you see how it affected the person who got stolen from. My original idea was to have Vince be a mover, on his last day of the job, and steal a small broach because the house was very big and he didn’t think it would be missed. But as it turns out, the house was someone’s great aunt’s house that had just died. That broach was very sentimental to her and she gets very upset. (Sorry guys, I know that summary was a little long.)
Anyway, I asked some people what they thought of it and I got a LOT of different feedback. Some people think it’s unsympathetic to steal something, and think he should steal money instead. OR steal an object, but give it to his daughter as a gift or something so he doesn’t have to pawn it and get caught. Or maybe steal an appliance of some sort that he can directly use (i.e. a bed, blender, make-up, etc). Though it would be hard to make a big deal out of a blender being stolen…
So my question is; Do you think stealing money or an object is more sympathize-able ? (Obviously stealing is wrong – but for story purposes.) What should Vince do with the object? (sell it for money, give it as a gift, or use it?) Any other opinions? Thanks!

I’m planning on creating my own business website, but within that site I want an Amazon Affiliate store. If I’m making money from my site from other things and running it as a business what happens with any money I get from the Amazon affiliate program?
Does the money from that count as earnings (and profit) for the business or is it a separate private income? If the money earnt from that is in Amazon gift vouchers rather than actual cash does this change things?
Thanks.

I got a text from 909-538-6641 saying “Your entry last month has WON! Go to TargetContests.com and enter your winning code 36273 to claim your FREE $1000 Target gift card within 24hrs.” I went to the website and its affiliated with prizecenterdirect.us. Is it a scam?

I received 2 Whole Foods gift cards from a friend who lives across the country. I do not live anywhere near a Whole Foods market. Any idea if these can be used at markets that might be affiliated with Whole Foods?

I’m buying a Macbook Pro computer as a gift for someone, and I want to know what the pros and cons are for buying at a Mac Mall store, which I understand is not directly affiliated with Apple, vs. buying the same Macbook Pro at an Apple Store. Which is the better place to buy the computer, bearing in mind that I’m giving it to someone else and they’ll have to deal with any problems the computer develops.
The person I’m getting the computer for is essentially an “applications person,” he’s familiar with using PC’s that run Windows software, he’s a very smart person but he’s not really expert at computers in general and Apple computers in particular. He has an iPad and loves it, and his background is electrical engineering.
So where should I buy the Macbook Pro?
