I have a great job and am going to school, with a GPA of 3.6. I am 25. I originally majored in forensics but now am doing engineering and english. I just feel like I am going to school just to go, and I haven’t found my niche.
Is that weird? Anyone have any tips for me?

Hi. I’m a junior from a public high school in NY. I want to enroll in NYU stern (regular decision) or University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (Early Action) for finance or any other business major, so I was wondering what my chances are. Here’s a summery of my transcript
Classes (just the main ones)
9th grade- Honors English, Honors geometry, honors world history, honors biology, science research, Spanish 2
10th grade- honors english, honors trig, honors world history II, honors chemistry, science research, Spanish 3
11th grade- honors english, honors pre calc, AP us history, AP chemistry, science research, Spanish 4
GPA: My school does this out of 100. My GPA during freshman year was like 92, but my sohpohomore one was about 95.8. Right now, I have a GPA of slightly above 95 as a junior. On Naviance (which has my fresh and sohpo grade only) I have a 94.24 GPA, which should go up after this year I guess.
SAT: 2210 (800 writing, 730 math, 680 reading)
Extracurriculars: Treasurer of my class in 10th, site-based representative 11th, Model UN 9th,10th, and 11th, Founder/President of Business Leaders of Tomorrow (My school’s first business club), Founder/President of Live United (Affiliated with the volunteer organization United Way), Treasurer of environmental club 11th, NHS, Math honors society, science honors society, Etc…
Also, I’ve interned at Albert Einstein-college of medicine for about 400 hours, and have about 150 hours of community service
I would appreciate it if i could get a response from an actual undergrad from the university, but anything’s fine. Thank you.

Hello.
I have been looking at collages lately, I came across Xavier University and I liked it. I know it is Roman Catholic affiliated, but accepts all religons, does this affiliation make a difference in the education? Also I’m Christian, would it matter? I know the tuition is expensive and I come from a low class family, would I have a chance? I have a gpa of around 3.7 to 3.9 and on a practice ACT I scored a 28. I’m only a sophomore..I want to go into the education school(Early childhood development and montessary as graduate) Are these good pragrams? Also do I have any chance of getting in?
Thank You

Before I begin I would like to point out that I am quite aware my grades/scores are very poor and that it is a huge stretch to apply, but I decided I might as well try. The worst a more prestigious school like UCI can do is reject me.
UC GPA: 3.35
SAT: 1790 (retaking on December 4th, I hope)
SAT II US History: 670
SAT II Math 2: 640
Cumulatively I have taken 6 AP courses and 9 Honors courses.
Extracurriculars:
Animal Rights Club for two years.
I’m in Desi Club, Senior Class Committee, Harry Potter Alliance, Club ED, and a Journalism News Editor. I was also a tutor to students who failed to pass the CAHSEE.
Volunteer: I volunteered for about 30 hours with Cats In Need.
Work Experience: 2000+ hours working at my father’s automotive repair shop over these 3+ years
Miscellaneous (not sure if it might be helpful somehow): My brother is an alumnus of UCI and my mother works as a RN for UCI.
~~~No I don’t think that because I have family members affiliated with the institution that I have some extreme advantage over other applicants. I did not include their affiliation in my application.~~~
-Im not sure how difficult life circumstances play into admissions but I did choose to write a (OK) personal statement about being diagnosed with severe depression in my sophomore year. I tried to refrain from sounding like a liability or charity case though, obviously focusing on what Ive gathered from the experience and how college might serve as an outlet to help me with it et cetera.
Any constructive criticism would be highly appreciated, thanks!
