Mike Baker is a 22 year old University of Virginia graduate, who gets drafted in the 2nd round of the MLB draft to the Baltimore Orioles. In his 3rd career start for the Fredrick Keys (minor league affiliate) he is hit in the head, from a comebacker up the middle. He goes into a coma, but something spectacular happens. His REM Cycle that controls when you can dream isn’t cycling and remains on. In the real world Mike Bakers family and friends have to deal with the pain and suffering, worrying for Mike. However after being hit by the ball, Mike (in his REM Cycle) moves on with life. To him he just has a bruise on his head. The basis of the novel focuses on the difficulties the outside world faces adjusting to Mike’s condition, while in Mike’s world he is continuing to live his normal life. As Mike’s condition digresses in the real world, Mike begins to feel the repercussion’s in his dream. He develops bruises over his body and regularly gets increasingly worse nose bleeds. Mike in the dream hides the condition from the Baltimore Orioles organization and works his way up the system. Eventually Mike makes it into the MLB. Near the same time in the real world, his condition has gotten worse and he is now on life support. Mike’s dream since he was a little kid was to pitch against the New York Yankees. He gets his chance in his first major league start in New York Stadium. Mike pitches the game of his life and is near throwing a no hitter. Meanwhile in the real world, Mike has minutes left in his life. Life Support is struggling to keep him alive and his family decides to pull the plug. As Mike strikes out the last hitter, he completes his dream of throwing a no hitter against the Yankees. As his team runs out to celebrate with him, Mike feels a sharp pain in his heart. The plug has been pulled and Mike in the dream is dying. He is rushed to the hospital where he dies of a heart attack. Mikes family mourns him and has a funeral. At the funeral the play videos and pictures of Mike getting his first baseball bat, his first hit, his first homerun, and the day he was drafted. The audience sheds tears, commemorates Mike’s wonderful life, and buries him in his grave. The novel ends.

They had AAA ball for 27 years. With a good, downtown stadium that actually has real grass, then I believe that being able to have fan support to offset massive travel costs could work. What are your thoughts?

I just wanted to know how often this occurred before they started the Dominican Prospect League. I know that the A’s got Michael Ynoa back in 2008 but he went to an academy that wasnt affiliated with an MLB team.
I was wondering how rare it is that a prospect from the DR sign with a different team once he becomes eligible at 16.
And just as a side question if anyone knows a roundabout percentage of how many of these kids actually stay in school while they attend an academy that’d be great.
I know the Mets, Pirates, and Indians make sure of this but not so sure about others. Any knowledge would be appreciated

I’ve been catching wafts of decay on the breeze for a very long time. It seems that the top product of these Universities has not been excellence in academic study, in quite a while, but their priority is a subversion of the US Constitution & individual rights they seem to despise & would rather replace with elitist Oligarchic Rule.
John Maynard Keynes a hero of Harvard University who’s advocated a system using consistent inflation over time explained much when he said that governments’ use of inflation is their secret weapon to destroy the wealth of their citizens.
“Continuous – a continuous process of inflation, governments can confiscate secretly and unobserved an important part of the wealth of their citizens. By this method, they not only confiscate, but confiscate arbitrarily. And while the process impoverishes many, it will actually enrich some. The process encourages all of the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner that is not – in a manner that not one man in a million can diagnose”
Did you know that every single US Supreme Court Judge is from an Ivy League School? These schools are hyped to be the top schools, yet graduates have demonstrated no great understanding of governance, what they understand best, demonstrated by their behavior, is control & exploitation of the masses. How are Colleges graded? Not by academic acheivement through testing of what’s been learned, but by measures like how much money do Schools have? Ivy League Schools get huge donations, most of which are from doners in Europe & the Middle East. How much money do grads make? There is also a good ol boy system where Ivy League Alumni promote Ivy league grads for good jobs that pay big loads of cash. In turn those Alumni who get preferential treatment in admissions graduate and are given preferences by the graduates of previous years.
The fact is that they are not better schools, no more than Obama is highly intelligent, it’s a perception propagandized through hype. The same way many crappy artists (musicians & actors) are pushed to fame through hype & propaganda. The people believe what they hear over & over from “the important people”. It’s not better schools, it’s a kind of higher class set up. Kind of like Royalty, Oligarchy, which is the progressive goal for the US. It’s the Kings new clothes psychological phenomena of human behavior (like a herd of sheep) in action.
Ivy league schools have been working toward the erosion of our Constitution for hundreds of years. The people need to be aware of this movement, this subversive plot, before it’s too late. We are in the midst of a huge push to topple the Constitution & our system of free markets & free & equal people. What’s happened to the economy was purposeful & planned. Not stupid, not bungling, but it was set up and carried out. As the masses loose, the rich get richer, and may just get enough power to take it all this time.
You have to understand where all this crazy stuff is coming from. It’s not insane, it’s a plan. A plot against you & your country, as you’ve come to know it. Do not trust the government, do not trust “experts” paid by the Government or Universities. Don’t fall for the con that’s going on. Look deep, research wide, and take nothing for granted because the prearranged information is often tainted propaganda. Good Luck : )http://www.worldviewweekend.com/worldvie…
