I received check for over $2,000 to be deposited to my bank account via atm. I saw another question that made it apparent that it was the same scam. The scam requires you to be an undercover customer service evaluator. In line with the new ‘working from home’ deals offered on the internet on how to make money by being a ‘secret shopper’ or by filling out surveys. I’m sure there are people that have been duped by this offer because there are ‘legit’ surveys and online income-making opportunities. I would for once like to see the little guy get some justice. Any possibilities regarding this endeavor?

A bit about me, on a small scale I have been trading in raw precious metals like gold and silver, I recently overheard someone mention that there is a mercury based substance that can be refined and is worth over €2,000,000 a gram!!! It is called ‘Red Mercury’. When I googled it, I found all sorts of mentions of terrorist plots and nuclear reactions so I am pretty freaked out because being a Muslim I probably would be the first to be accused of something dodgy. Sooo, as of 2013 is there any new laws about this? Are we allowed to try to buy it or sell it if we find it? Does it even exist? I am very concerned about going into something that may potentially be used to harm people so please also advise me if this stuff is in fact as dangerous as some people suggest it may be. Anyway, for the record I do not have ANY Red Mercury, nor do I know where to get it, or in fact as you can see from my question what it is?! I just wanted to know if there is a niche in something different to make some money without hurting anyone or breaking any laws!

My situation: I am dual citizen of France and the US because my father is French and I was born in the the US. I speak extremely little French but am currently trying learn as much as I can. I am married with two small children ages 2 and 3 and my husband is a US citizen only and does not speak French but is currently trying to learn. He works in the Electro – Maintenance Field and I am currently a stay at home mom. We would like to move within the next year so that our children will still be young enough to pick up the language naturally and have a relatively easy transition into the French school system. The French culture and way of thinking has always appealed to me and I have always dreamed of one day moving to France to reconnect with my French heritage and pass it along to my children. I feel it will give my kids a broader prospective on the world and the gift of being bilingualism. I wished I would have learned French as a child and both my husband and I want our children to have as many opportunities in life as we can give them. We want to stay at least a couple of years but our open to the possibility to staying very long term… we are keeping an open mind.
What I do know: My children are entitled to French citizenship through me. My husband is legally able to obtain a work visa because of my status as a French citizen.
What I’d like advice about: I have done some internet digging on expat blog sites but everyone talks about the difficulty in finding work and obtaining work visas for non french citizens… I realize it will not be easy for us to find work but does anyone out there have a similar situation to ours. That is, we already have legal status to work. Our main hurdle I’m sure is our very limited knowledge of French, but I’m trying to find out some loophole I guess. Does anyone know of a niche where we might be able to get decent work while building our knowledge of French after we move there. For an American or English company with offices in France… possibly??? If you can point us in the right direction we would appreciate it. Also, ideally we would like for one of us to find work before we move. Is this realistic? What area of France should we aim for?

So, I am honestly just wondering… If the majority of Americans are affiliated with some Church (Christians), Mosque (Muslims) or a Synagogue (Jewish), whom amount to at least 80 percent of Americans altogether, then why is Gay marriage allowed? The reason I ask is because these religions are all against Gay marriage, so I believe it’s a sort of paradox that Gay marriage is allowed if the majority of people follow religions that are strictly against Gay marriage. I feel there is a very small minority that adhere to their religious code? Am I right? Are the statistics wrong?
Also let me clarify, I don’t want anyone badgering religion because this question is a completely neutral why is blah blah blah… And you guys should answer because blah blah blah… Hope you get the point and thanks for answering!

I have been a customer with Verizon wireless for 7 years. I am(was) ‘grandfathered in’ on unlimited data for my phone, but my wife and daughter didn’t have a data plan. Our bill was always around $160. I got a call 3 weeks ago from a guy named Richard from Verizon, who wanted to discuss my account. He said I was only using 1/10 of a GB of data on my phone per month, and if I switched to the newer ‘Share Everything’ plan, we would have unlimited minutes and texts and that my wife and daughter could use data on their phones too. He said with a 1GB plan my bill would be $10 cheaper, but to add another GB was only $10/month. I told him I wasn’t interested because their phones wouldn’t connect to wi-fi and their phones would have limited access anyway. He researched further and said if I switched he could give me 3 new phones for FREE. I had 4 to pick from (one was an I-Phone 4, which my daughter had been wanting). I got his name and number and told him I would call him back after discussing it with my family.
The next day I called with the 3 phones we picked and made sure he repeated that they were free and my bill would stay exactly the same. He kept reassuring me. At certain parts of the process, he would mention the call was being recorded. I made sure to have him repeat that the phones were free and the bill would not change during the ‘recorded’ parts. After placing the order, he said I would have to agree to the phone prompts and that afterward I would get an email disclosing everything about the order. I had to agree to the ‘terms and conditions’ on this email for the order to be completed. I thought at least this would be the proof he wasn’t lying to me. At the end he again stressed the importance of agreeing to the confirmation email.
After getting off the phone, I kept refreshing my email, but never got one. I checked throughout the next day and still nothing. I called Verizon , afraid of screwing up this sweet deal. They said the order was placed and that pressing ‘1’ at the prompts on the call was ‘agreeing’ to the terms of the order. Oh well, it was all recorded at least.
So within the next 4 days or so of activating the new phones, I was checking my data, because now I have a teenager using it. I seen that with her on the plan we had already used .5 GB. I knew 2 GB wasn’t going to be enough, but Richard also said I could add another 2GB for just $10/month more. That would bring my bill to around $170. I was looking through ‘My Verizon’ and clicked on my bill. The bill was over $400! I called Verizon to see why, and the lady I spoke with let me tell the story, and her and her supervisor researched the order for over an hour. She kept coming back on the line only to tell me they were still researching all this. Finally she told me that it wasn’t Verizon that called me, it was one of their 3rd party companies that place orders, KIPANY PRODUCTIONS LTD. They charged me $100 for my phone, $90 in upgrade fees, and increased my bill by around $30/month! Convenient to have 3rd party scapegoats and assume no responsibilty. These people had access to my Verizon account, and to me changed it illegally. I didn’t agree to any of this. The CSR told me finally that she could waive the upgrade fees because they could somehow ‘see’ that they weren’t disclosed, and give me $50 off my phone. This was all she could do. I wasn’t home at the time, so I asked her to call me back later that night after I could speak with my wife. In the meantime I sent an email to Verizon so this problem could reach the corporate end and maybe help stop it. Of course there was never a response. I also called the KIPANY PRODUCTIONS number several times only to be disconnected every time, and finally never allowed through again.
After the CSR called me back I asked her what we could do about KIPANY. She said they would file a ‘360’ and get back to me. I just wanted this fixed. She told me that as long as I could have those new phones turned in within 5 days they could switch me to my old phones, but after bringing this up to my daughter she almost cried. She’s a good kid and deserves a nice phone. My concern was how do they consider the phones ‘returned’? When the shipment arrives? When they log them in? What if the shipment is later than promised, just like when I got them on Monday rather than the previous Friday I was promised? I finally figured I was just screwed and told her to waive what she could and we would deal with it.
I keep calling, to be told someone is going to call me. I guess the idea was to push me past the limit to return the phones. New contract stranglehold. WHAT RIGHTS DO I HAVE IN THIS SITUATION??

Some girl stole my iPod. There seems to be NO evidence pointing to her. However, on her email and Facebook account (messages), there is TONS.
Okay, so here is the back ground information:
-I am underage, 15.
-I talked to the school cops, but nothing yet.
-I have the passwords to both this girl’s Facebook profile and email.
-There was not much proof, but there is TONS now.
-I realize it is invasion of privacy.
-There are so many messages proving her guilty (on Facebook).
-On her email, it says she has used my iPod, which she stole, so many times.
-She is gang-affiliated.
I need help. I want it back. We know who it took it and want it back. They told me if she was found guilty I could press charges, but could she also press charges on me for looking through her stuff?
I’m scared and confused.
How much trouble would I get in if I took pictures of the evidence and presented to a police officer?
What would I say?
A school English teacher said that it was evidence/proof and that I would not get in trouble myself.
Although, some other kid told me I could face 1-5 years in Juvenile Hall, then prison.
Any help with the legal stuff?
