I know the movie review field is saturated and there are many blogs on the web so I came up with a niche. Is it a good one? I find that if I am write about something hardly few people are I will most likely get more views. People love movies but most only watch movies that are mainstream. I watch a lot of movies. So id like to write a blog about great movies that no one has seen, good niche?

I enjoy watching great movies but can’t say I’ve watched that many. Since I’m quite particular I hate the idea of testing loads of movies and wasting time/money to find the right ones for me.
So if some of you could help me out by recommending some that would be great.
I don’t really have a particular genre that I can name I like so what I’ll do is give you a description of the movies I really enjoy and name a few.
The kind of movies I like are ones where you can tell the director/write has given it a lot of thought. Something “different”, an idea which is maybe a bit strange but executed well, doesn’t have to be a “Hollywood Blockbuster”.
If it’s an action movie I dislike the pure fighting and gun ones, I like something with a bit more depth, a touch of thriller added to it, with scheming plots, twists, strange personalities, something a bit more niche. True stories are always good and movies set in one place or setting such as Panic Room.
If it’s a thriller then it must be something that makes me think, something deep which makes you question things, but not over the top deep so that I’m left feeling completely surreal.
If it’s a drama/romance, then I enjoy movies that portray real life in the world today, in the last 20 years or so, not before or after. Preferably with not too much soppy romance, I like the movie to focus on more important things then just “I’m in love with her, she loves him, but it’s complicated because I can’t let her know she likes me, so I need to play hard to get and eventually she’ll come to me, but I’ve moved on, yet I still miss her and…”
If the movie has comedy that’s a big bonus, it’s best when it’s dry or unexpected, or done in an unusual way.
I’ve purposely left out horror/sci-fi/fantasy! It’s not that I don’t enjoy them, just not what I’m looking for at the moment!
If I’ve finished the movie feeling a bit philosophical, or inspirational, or intellectual then I usually have really enoyed it.
Finally, here is a small list of the types of movies I would rate an all time best for me:
Amelie
The Departed
Blow
Lord of War
The Disappearance of Alice Creed
Kidulthood
Changeling
City of God
Apologies for writing an essay but any help is much appreciated.
Thanks 🙂

I really like crows, and I have a small collection of stuffed ones I’ve found at flea markets and gift shops (their names are Duke, Jeremy, Onyx, and Straw Hat) and I’ve made a few little ones out of felt (their names are Big Bertha, Sonny, Maryanna, and Mildred). However, with the upcoming movie “The Owls of Ga’hoole” being promoted these days, I’ve noticed really cute little beanie babies of all the main owl characters…I have about three of them, and they are nestled next to Duke and Jeremy w/out apparent problem.
However, I am in conflict about this bcuz I read somewhere that crows and owls have always had enmity b/tw them (this is why Jeremy refuses to enter the chamber of The Great Owl in The Secret of NIMH). But I don’t have anything against owls, myself – and I happen to think barn owls in particular are pretty darn cute. 🙂 I also like Bob and Terry from Where the Wild things Are. 🙂 However, when I picked up the second book of the Owls of Ga’Hoole series to flip thru it, I was so put off by the disparaging manner in which they talk about crows in the first chapter, that I decided to skip over that part. I do plan to see the movie, though, when it comes out, cuz it looks darn cute. 🙂 Could someone help me with this owls vs. crows dilemma? For that matter, why did they become enemies in the first place? Why can they just get along, as the old saying goes?
