We don’t consider ourselves a for-profit business, we’re just a couple of website operators trying to spread a positive message in the music/entertainment industry. We also share media from user submissions ans drive traffic to affiliated websites by live streaming events. Was wondering how to incorporate as we do need to take on investments and sales from ad space, and pay appropriate taxes when it is due. We also distribute promotional materials like t-shirts at our own expense, and want to put those funds into a business checking account.

Let me start off by saying that I am IN NO WAY affiliated with the band in question.
A few weeks ago, i was going through my YouTube contact notifications and I had one from this Russian music channel. I don’t speak a word of Russian, but when I heard the song featured on their channel, I fell in love with it. I viewed the video on its own page and it has hundreds of comments of people saying they can’t understand it but they love it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgT9fG7BT…
Do you think they have the potential to go big?

Which story/plot do you feel fits my characters the best?
Characters:
Nathan Age: 20
Physical: 5’9″ lean, sculpted with a tattoo on his left arm/shoulder, dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, tanned
Info about him/back story: He was the bassist for a semi-successful metal band. They toured for 12 months after putting out an album. Their label dropped them due to lackluster sales. They finished their concert dates and then called it quits. He doesn’t know what to do with himself now, because that is all he ever wanted to do.
Joan Age: 18 (Nathan’s love interest in all of the stories)
Physical: 5’5″, sun streaked long brown hair, exotic brown eyes, curvy but toned build, golden complexion
Info about her: Dad was in a very successful band but he was killed in a car crash when she was 5. She inherited his love of music and plays both drums and guitar. She started an online clothing business with her two best friends a year ago, and it has been a modest success. They make their own designs and print them on everything – clothes, hats, bags, purses, etc. Very independent and doesn’t want her dad’s old friends to be the reason why she’s successful.
All story/plots take place after his band’s last concert.
Story/Plot #1
Nathan moves to town to stay with his aunt. Meets Joan at his new job working at a music store. He was always obsessed with making his music better, now he has learned just to enjoy music for it’s own sake. Plot: When his band gets back together, he has to make a decision. Does he give up the new life he has built for himself (which includes his relationship with Joan) or does he try to reach stardom one more time?
Story/Plot 2
Nathan comes back home – feels like a failure. His dad was very mad at him for going in the first place, and will not let up on him. He pressures Nathan to take more responsibility in the family business and go back to school. Plot: He reunites with his band, but this time Joan is their manager. Her online company designs and markets band merchandise and her connections to the music world from dead dad’s friends give them a much needed boost. His dad is really mad that he’s back to the same old loser lifestyle and not helping out with the family business like he should. They have a huge fight. The next day his dad has a massive heart attack and might not live. He feels a massive amount of guilt and feels like he has to choose between two paths. Does he go ahead and go through with the band, or does he give it all up to be there for his family?
Story/Plot 3
Nathan is looking for a new direction in his life. But while he figures that out he moves in with his best friend and band mate Caleb. While they were on the road, Caleb’s uncle died and left Caleb his house in his will. They finally go check it out (his family took care of it while he was on the road). Joan lives next door. Plot: They find a huge stash of money in a secret compartment in the bathroom cabinet. They don’t tell anyone and spend a chunk of it. The FBI shows up because the money was “marked” money from a bank robbery and think they stole it. They have to clear their name.
Story/Plot 4
Nathan’s mom has been in a coma for the last two years as a result of a car accident. Shortly after he gets back home, she dies. He was going through her papers to try and figure out what to do when he comes across a letter from his dad (who has never met). In the letter his dad was begging his mom to let him come to visit, before it was too late. Late for what? He tossed the letter aside – his dad never took an interest in him before, and he felt like it was too late for them to have a relationship now. As he gets closer to his 21 birthday, he starts having weird pains and cravings for meat.
Plot: He is a werepanther. Werepanthers don’t shift for the first time until the guys are 21 and the females are 18 (when they reach their maturity). His dad arrives before his shift and takes Nathan to his home. There are different clans and different types of weres. His dad’s clan is going through an uproar because the old clan leader died, and now the most powerful were is an 18 year old girl – Joan. Their culture dictates the most powerful were is the leader of the clan, but they rarely have clan leaders that are women. The culture also dictates when the clan leader is not mated, they have to have one or all of the unattached weres of the opposite sex will compete for them. And the next powerful were is a real bad guy, so she must pick someone before the clan erupts in violence.
Which do you think is best? Or if you didn’t like any of them, what changes do you suggest?

I’ve noticed that hipsters get a lot of hate directed toward them, but I for one, think it is ridiculous. First, I am going to clarify that I am NOT a hipster, but I still don’t agree with how people generalize them, and I am going to go through some of the main arguments against “hipsterism” and why they are invalid.
1. “Hipsters specifically reject the mainstream, but this is contradictory because they are then defined by the mainstream”
-The whole mindset of a hipster is to not conform so this is obviously going to be a trait of hipster. It is simply a boundary, or a border. That does not mean they are defined by it. There are so many alternatives to just mainstream, thus they aren’t defined by the mainstream at all. They have an infinite amount of room to have individuality, so as not to be defined by the narrow territory they cannot enter.
2. “Hipsters are against conformity, but they conform to a specific stereotype, so they don’t have individuality”
-This is probably the stupidest argument, but it has to be separated into different categories.
a. Clothing
It is true that most hipsters dress alike, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have individuality. To say that all hipsters are interchangeable and conform to a specific way just because of how they dress is not only absurd, but also a really superficial way to look at it. If you just take an average person, who doesn’t get labeled, they all pretty much dress alike as well, with as little diversity as hipsters, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have individuality. Hipsters conforming to a fashion style doesn’t make them conformists. Honestly most of them dress like this because they like the way it looks, and it will get them laid by fellow hipsters. If you are a hipster guy for example, you are probably in to hipster girls, so why wouldn’t you dress like this to help you get with them? I for one, think the way they dress is nice looking (some of them take it too far though) and it makes perfect sense for them to dress like this.
b. Music
People say that all hipsters listen to similar music. This is completely ridiculous. Hipsters all have unique tastes in music. Do they mostly listen to indie music? Yes. But all that means is an independent label. Saying all indie music is the same is equally as ridiculous as saying all corporate record label music is the same. Under the umbrella of independent bands, there is a great deal of diversity. Hipsters believe in niche consumerism, so they don’t like supporting the big guy thus they turn to indie music. This doesn’t mean they can’t have their own taste in music. All hipsters have unique preferences in the variety of sub-genres of indie music, and thus don’t conform to music taste, but only to consumerism. Also, I don’t know any hipsters who limit themselves to modern indie bands. They don’t listen to modern mainstream music, but they still like a lot of oldies and other types of non-pop music.
c. Political and Religious opinions
People always say that hipsters conform to being a liberal atheist. This is a logical fallacy. People who become hipsters don’t conform to these ideas because they are hipsters, they just tend to go hand in hand with the personality type that leads one to becoming a hipster. Obviously someone who is all about niche consumerism in the sense of not supporting big corporations is likely to be a liberal. And obviously someone who refuses conformity is going to be skeptical of religion.

I’m pretty sure nobody really knows what I mean, so I’ll elaborate. I’m a teenager, grade nine, and I always seem to be looking for somewhere to fit in. I can watch a movie, say fight club, and then afterwards I want to be just like Tyler Durden. I watch a Marilyn Manson video, and suddenly I have the urge to go all spooky goth. I keep trying to tell myself to let go and be myself, but something in my head tells me that myself isn’t enough. Like I’m looking for my niche, where I fit-in in this big world. I want to change my wardrobe, and hang out with similar people, and listen to the music, and think the thoughts. I don’t know where to turn, so I turn over to you. Thanks ahead of time.
