ok, before everybody states the obvious here, i am recieving stafford loans and a pell grant with a VERY small FSEOG (100 dollar per disbursment.). I am attending American Intercontinental University Online.
sadly this school does not participate in PERKINS and since i am a colorado resident and they are based in IL, i dont qualify for any state aid (still trying to wrap my head around that one. i think they may be hiding something.).
they sent me a list of scholarship websites and i looked into them and i have one thing to say….YA RIGHT! i’m sorry but half of those things look like nothing but clickbank affiliated websites that promise for a chance to enter if you give them your info and a short essay but really what they want is as many clicks on certain buttons for 2-3 cents a click making them money.
does anyone have ANY advice? i have horrible credit from medical bills, no credit cards even if i could get one and about 4 months of back rent and utilities that have already eaten up 3 of my federal disbursements and every single one of my paychecks. please help,my landlord is threatening to boot me by the end of next month if i cant pay him off in full!

Here’s my situation…
I am taking courses at a community college for an RN program with an affiliated school of nursing
I have one more semester of regular classes before I can start my clinical/nursing courses…
Until now I have received a full pell grant due to my parents lack of income. But now I file as independent, and I only qualify for $450 per semester. I want to pay this last semester out of pocket and save taking out loans for once I get to the Nursing school it’s self.
I currently have 3 loans from a previous school out threw sallie mae for around $6500 all together and I am making the minimum monthly payments. I don’t want to stop paying them as I want to pay them off as soon as possible but I also want to save money….
sooo do you think I should apply for in school deferment and just pay the interest or just I just keep it as it is….
would I technically save money in the long run if I apply for deferment and make payments anyway or does it even matter>
any advice helps thanks!
