Affiliate Marketing Secrets

I work for a media group, i.e. my newsroom is in charge of several publications. There’s a newspaper that’s considered the newsroom’s primary publication, as well as several others. I work for one of the minor magazines in that media group, whose market is pretty much still being tested. However, I’m gaining the major newspaper’s editors’ attention with my works as a reporter, and colleagues in my newsroom have expressed their appreciation for my writings.
Recently there’s been this documentary project on a subject I’m really passionate about, and in any case I’d like to write about it and have it published. Due to the segmentation of my magazine, this story cannot run there. That’s why I’m pitching to the newspaper. So really, in my heart, I’d do it for the love of it rather than for the money.
However, I’ve also been told that as a professional you need to be consistent in treating your pieces as a business commodity that deserves to be paid for.
A few copy editors from the major newspaper have written for my magazine and gotten paid extra as freelancers for their published pieces. However, I’ve also heard of reporters and copy editors from other magazines getting paid nothing for writing for the newspaper.
Now, I can understand if I get paid nothing if I had been using material from the same reportage to write different stories for different publications, because of course the point of having a convergent media group is to share resources. However, if writing the story for the newspaper would mean that I’ll have to moonlight on top of my magazine job and do an exclusive reportage that doesn’t run in my magazine, then I think I deserve to get paid as a freelancer. Especially that other people within the group have been treated as such.
Anyway, this story that I’m pitching… I really, really would love to do it and have it published on a media with considerable national exposure. It could be a precious milestone in my career even if I don’t get paid for it. Plus the people I’d be interviewing for this happen to be people I want to connect and keep in touch with. I’ve even been offered an exclusive interview arrangement which I don’t think other media have access to.
But then I also fear that if I easily agree to do this for free, the newspaper editor may think that I value my work too cheaply, and so the media group can take advantage of me in that way. I think selling one’s hard work cheap is a sign of weakness, and I certainly don’t want to come across as weak. I know that I’m an excellent writer, I work hard and drive extra miles to make my pieces happen, and I’m passionate about what I do… but I always push for my rights. Among my colleagues in the minor magazine, I’m the most adamant about getting my reportage costs reimbursed and contesting editors’ decisions that I don’t agree with, but I gain this confidence because my excellence and consistency give me bargaining power.
So here I am, a minor magazine reporter, pitching a story for the major newspaper. It’s a story I’m passionate about reporting, it cannot run in my magazine, so I’m pitching it to a media where the story is better suited.
What are my rights before the newspaper editors, and how should I assert them? Should I insist on getting paid, or can doing a first cross-publication story for free give me better advantages in the long run?
If the newspaper decides not to pay me, and accepting that does not benefit me in any way, should I pitch it to another newspaper / magazine that isn’t affiliated with my media group instead? If yes, then how do I get my pitch noticed and accepted on short notice by editors I don’t know personally?

Ok, I’m not gonna go crazy into details here but this is my vision.
I have always been above average in computer skills, and thrive off of learning how to do new things.
After many years, I have acquired many talents. Web design, Graphic design, Network penetration/intrusion with linux. etc. etc.
In the back of my mind I guess I always hoped these skills would start to pay off organically, But this has not been the case.
Some people are naturally good at marketing and making business decisions, however, this has been one of my weak points.
No matter how beautiful or informative a Web Site I design, I have yet to master the art of making it profitable.
So now on to my point. I need a partner / partners
Someone who either has skills similar to mine, or skills that will compliment mine in business.
Perhaps some marketing skills? knowledge of affiliate networks and how to use them etc.
Im not looking for anything extremely specific. If you feel like you have great ideas or know how to work well with great ideas, perhaps we can make money together.
If you have a website idea that you think would boom if built correctly i believe i could turn that vision into reality.
As optimistic as it might sound, My long term goal is to build a company sort of like Hasoffers.com or Google even (quite optimistic huh?) but unique in a new way of course.
So now i have put it out there, and will leave the rest to you. With the economy the way it is, surely there are other people with visions like mine and who want to turn their skills into profits.
Just so this isn’t misleading, I’m Merely a guy with a house and a few computers and an internet connection trying to spark something innovative.
Anyone who brings something good to the table will become 50/50 partners unless theres more than 2 of us of course.. age is not an issue, and I am 25 if your wondering.

I’m writing a story about a med school student and a pro football player…(it could happen). I’m having trouble figuring out a way that will make the meeting seem realistic. My idea now is that she’s an intern for the orthopedic clinic that takes care of the NFL team (which is possible because a clinic near my house takes care of the Thunder) and the team holds a big party which everyone affiliated with the team is invited; she goes because she works there and he goes because he’s the quarterback… if you don’t think this is realistic, I would appreciate some suggestions. Christ, Jesus Christ. Although it cannot so far be proved indefinably we can say that it is a truth that Jesus did exist for his life, choices, stances and philosophy’s have affected many and dwell in the hearts and minds in much the same way that Spider man effects a young mans conciseness.
A very famous book called the bible (the fist ever words to be committed to print) covered his life and times and the people he met along the way including his 12 disciples. The book is a collaborative effort to describe the positive community developments when people commit there lives to that of the greater good.
The Bible describing the life and times of J.C. was used in Westernized society’s alongside capitalism to propel the country’s people into the industrial revolution (they were coming out of the dark/middle ages).
The miraculousness thing about jesus was that he appeared in his mummy’s tummy without his fathers input …in other words the immaculate conception.
The fact that his mother and father had to travel a vast distance (because of work?) could cause us to question the reliability of that information and is usually the first thing that critics point out. However it was said that his journey to earth was marked by the stars, stars that three wise men chose to follow? To a small town in Bethlehem, Jerusalem.
Jesus father Joseph was a carpenter which was regarded in those days as an honorable profession. But he doesn’t appear according to the readings to have had more than an initial influence on Jesus. Mary his mother hardly gets a mention apart from her position as Virginal (and therefore desirably) Vestibule.
At heart Jesus appears to be the equivalent of a philosopher ..someone who ponders and acts on the fundamental problems of the society he lives under such as Existence, values, reason, mind and language. We could therefore speculate from our vantage point in history that what happened that night was an enjoyable evening even if it started and conclude with water and maybe the writer explaining the evening (to the popular masses) chose to use creative license to aid the readers impression of what jesus had achieved that night.
Jesus was an old time Hero but you cannot deny his existence today as his words, teachings and concepts educate many of the populous into maturity and has as good as built the towers of control and imprisonment that we all are effected by.
Please note that Christianity is a branch of Religion that originated in Judaism ..the fundamental difference between the two religions is that the Jews do not believe that he rose again Easter is not a Jewish recognized holiday

As someone who has turned from their original religious upbringing because of its hypocritical stance on so many subjects it would be a whole new debate. Has failed to fully encompass the Big Bang Theory im not sure if scientists today are less witch doctors then there historical counterparts and although i thank god for many of there discovery’s which have made it easier for me to understand and validate my world. I often find myself questioning the ethics of some of there areas of research and worry about the god like status they have achieved to position themselves into at this current point in history.
And although i know there are various pressure groups i could affiliate myself with to cope with my confusion i have not yet found one that covers my particular interests which is providing the best possible future for my children. Which I believe would be a conclusion to who has the best creation myth.i think the acopolitic (even though i can’t spell it) nature of the current state of the world needs some sort of miraculous, common man conclusion to the religion debate to move forward.
We cannot deny that spirituality exists (even science will testify to that) and in what form spirituality exists i believe is a personal choice.
But in the age of the internet (worldwide effective communication) and termendulous weather, central morality is probably the key to the future, as history dictates that society’s spiraling out of control normally end quite abruptly.
Can you help me gain some sort of formal conclusions to my findings to pass to my children
